English

The English department lives in the N building. Most English courses teach multiple grades.

Lower rotation

Freshmen and sophomores participate in the lower rotation. They must participate in the same lane both semesters.

Odd-Even years

• Communication, Communication A, or Communication SLC
• Western Literature, Western Culture, or Western Culture SLC

Even-Odd years

• Contemporary Writers, Contemporary Heritage, or Contemporary Heritage SLC
• Writer's Voice, Literary Style, or Literary Style SLC

Upper rotation

Juniors and Seniors participate in the upper rotation, consisting of an English elective and a required course. Odd-Even years teach World Literature and World Classics, while Even-Odd years teach American Literature and American Classics. Instead of taking the required course, seniors may take AP English Literature, which is the only year-long English course.
