Overview
The Senior Quad is one of the two "quads" (quadrangles, a bit like courtyards) at Gunn. The Senior Quad is generally considered to consist of a slightly elevated area covered by artificial turfing and a set of neat concrete squares topped with wood. There are also a few standard tables surrounding the elevated flat. It is located in front of the P building, and on the WATT Gunn campus map it is simply labelled as "Quad." The area is a popular spot for upperclassmen during brunch and lunch, as it is located directly in front of the cafeteria in the P building. A wall of trees surrounds it from the side of the E building, providing decent shade on hot days. Trivia
Despite being one of the two quads, the other being the Freshman Quad, the Gunn WATT app's map says that it's the only quad.
There used to be a fountain where the elevated area with turfing is now, resulting in the turfing having a rather out of place look. In June 1994, a senior prank that had gone explosively wrong ended the career of the already-defunct fountain and injured 18.[1][2]
