Every PAUSD student is given a Google account when they join the district.
School-issued emails are of the form FLXXXXX@pausd.us, where F is the student's first initial, L the last initial, and XXXXX the last five digits of the student ID (i.e. excluding 950). The emails were in the past listed in a directory in Google Contacts, which could be used to determine the student ID of another student by name. A slight technical glitch in August of 2024 led to this ability being removed.
Apps
Google makes a number of apps as part of the Google Workspace suite.
Apps available to students:
- Drive
- Gmail
- Docs
- Sheets
- Slides
- Forms
- Sites
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Meet
Apps unavailable to students:
- Chat (formerly known as Hangouts)
Chrome
Students using Chrome are required to sync their browsing data to the Cloud.[citation needed] For this reason, when signed into a Chrome account with one's PAUSD email, students can't install their own browser extensions, though it is possible to use a personal chrome account while signed into your PAUSD email.
