PRIME (short for Personal Reteaching Intervention Mentorship Enrichment) is a mandatory study-hall/office-hours period following 7th period on Wednesdays. Students are assigned by default to a PRIME teacher but may schedule an appointment with another teacher on FlexiSched.

PRIME is the successor to Gunn Together, though with more emphasis on Flex (the predecessor of Gunn Together)-like periods.

Students have complained that PRIME is pointless and that they should be allowed to go home if they don't need to visit teachers. Another criticism stems from the bureaucratic nature of needing to sign up for PRIME teachers on FlexiSched rather than having the flexibility of visiting whatever teacher(s) one wants.

Expectations

  • Students with 7th period preps must still attend PRIME.
  • All students will be assigned to a PRIME classroom with one of their teachers on their schedule and will report at the beginning of prime to that teacher.
  • Students will either stay in the assigned PRIME room or create an appointment to get support from a specific teacher/ counselor/ classroom for the period.
  • PRIME will be used for schoolwide events or academic time (labeled "Intervention" below).
  • PRIME will periodically allow time for students to attend workshops, college visits, informational sessions without interrupting lunchtime or class instruction.
  • PRIME will also provide an opportunity to possibly work one-on-one or in small groups with their teachers.
  • With some planning, students can create a space to work in small student groups for collaborative projects.

Skipping

Some teachers, commonly PE teachers, turn a blind eye to students skipping PRIME, so you can just sign up for their PRIME, stay until they take attendance and mark you present, then leave.
