Mark Hernandez, or Mr. Hernandez was[dubious - discuss] an English teacher at Gunn. He left Gunn shortly before
Thanksgiving Break in the 2024-2025 school year and, as of the end of the year, has not resumed teaching classes. He taught World Classics H, American Classics H, Composition and Literature of Visual Media, and AP Literature. He also formerly coached the girls' water polo team.
Personality
Mr. Hernandez is known for being overqualified to be an English teacher, as he has a law degree from Stanford. He is also known for being a little eccentric, and has his own fair share of "out of pocket" quotes and stories told to students. His opinions about film are quite strong, and he defends them with every fiber of his being.
Controversies
Mr. Hernandez has been in many controversies over the years, none of which have been confirmed. At least one may have resulted in his disappearance from teaching at Gunn.[citation needed]
