Juan López was a general in the Mexican-American war who fought in Santa Ana's army. He led his troops during the Battle of Yerba Buena and was subsequently captured and tortured by American troops His ghost haunts the second-floor boys bathroom in the N building, the site of his hanging. Students have reported seeing blood on the walls and heard screams.^{[citation needed]}
