Sandra Lewis, referred to as Ms. Lewis, was an orchestra teacher at Gunn. Her main instruments were the violin and the clarinet. She taught all the orchestra classes and a few years before her retirement she was also a band director.

Personality
Ms. Lewis is known for teaching at Gunn for a very long time, and tirelessly, with Ms. Ou-Ponticelli, making all orchestra classes at Gunn fun and a positive environment. Sadly, she retired after the 2024-2025 school year, after a very long 20+ years of teaching at Gunn (she started teaching at Gunn in 2002). During her tenure, she led Gunn orchestras to perform at the Midwest Clinic, an international music educator's conference, twice, once in 2013 and once in 2022, and oversaw the renovation of Spagneberg and the creation of the Chamber Orchestra course in 2019. She was past CMEA State Secretary and past CMEA Bay Section president.[1]
