Dr. Xu
Ning Xu, referred to as Dr. Xu or Dr. X, is a physics teacher at Gunn. She teaches Physics and AP Physics 1. She runs marathons.
Teaching personality
Dr. X is constantly stressed out and sometimes defensive about her explanations. Sometimes, she will personally (though, not always gently) coach students through test questions if she deems their work unsatisfactory. Despite all this, she is highly qualified, having a PhD in physics from Stanford.

Dr. X adds YouTube breathing videos between her slides. On the 2025 Great America Physics Day, she warned adamantly about avoiding substance abuse and misdemeanors lest students land themselves in Great America Jail.
