Prom
Prom is an annual dance at Gunn High School, held during April or May. It is generally considered to be the most formal dance after Homecoming, and the tickets are the most expensive ($145-$165 in 2025[1]). Unlike some other schools, Gunn does not have a separate Junior and Senior prom.
Prom is the only school dance not held on campus. Instead, it is hosted at a variety of venues such as:
- The San Jose Tech Interactive Museum (2024-2025 venue)[2]
- After events at the Prom, Gunn High School was banned from the Tech Interactive.[dubious - discuss]
- San Francisco Design Center Galleria (2023-2024 venue)
- This was also supposed to be the venue for the 2019-2020 Prom, but was cancelled after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The Exploratorium (2022-2023 venue)
