Personality and philosophy
Ms. Garger has a generally positive personality. She encourages students to speak to each other in Spanish, sometimes bringing up fairly deep or controversial topics.
She says animal noises (as they are rendered in Spanish) like "guau guau guau" and "miau miau miau" to indicate delight.
Policies and idiosyncrasies
At least in her AP Spanish class, she has a fairly strict homework policy; late submissions are not allowed.
Her phone policy is for students to put their phones in the corners of their desks, making it obvious when anybody is using their phone. It is strictly enforced, and not difficult to comply with. It might reduce the incidence of students leaving their phones in class, compared to using phone pockets.
