This course focuses on advanced school-level vocabulary acquisition, composition, reading, and public speaking. The work of the year is focused on effectively and persuasively organizing, supporting, and presenting materials in writing and speech. Reading is selected to emphasize the challenges of effective communication. The course uses the works and ideas of canonical and contemporary writers such as Rostand, Golding, Orwell, and Acevedo.
