Geometry A was previously an advanced-lane course offered to students coming from 8th grade Algebra or Algebra 1. However, it was discontinued in the 2023-2024 school year due to de-laning efforts.

Prior to discontinuation

Students taking Algebra 8 in middle school could choose either Geometry H or Geometry A, while students taking 9th grade Algebra 1 could only choose Geometry or Geometry A. Geometry A students would by default continue through the Advanced lane, taking Algebra 2/Trig A, IAC, and AP Calculus AB (if applicable).

Following discontinuation

All Algebra students can now choose either Geometry or Geometry H. The Honors lane remains unchanged, but students in Geometry now elect whether to take Algebra 2 or Algebra 2/Trig A, in effect pushing back the lane split by one year.
