Biology H is the honors-level version of Biology. Unlike most honors classes, this does not receive weighted credit, due to a UC rule prohibiting freshmen from taking weighted classes.[1]
Course catalog description
Units of study include Cells to Organisms, Evolution, Genetics and Biotechnology, and Ecosystems, Stability and Change. Topics will be developed through the use of the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices. Emphasis will be placed on developing science skills, including developing and using models, planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, and engaging in argument from evidence.

- Prerequisites: Open to grade 9

Should I sign up for this class?
Many students report this class being very difficult, due to the heavy load of homework. However, others report no problem with this. Please use your own judgement when choosing between this and normal Biology. Most students who have Ms. Merchant as their teacher think this class is manageable.
